Easy Steps To Optimizing Your Facebook Business Page

Optimizing-Facebook-PagesGrowing a successful business page on Facebook requires more than creating an account, asking friends to “like” it and posting a few comments.

Your page will require a lot of content relevant to your business and a few marketing strategies. To optimize your business page and increase your ranking, try some of these helpful tips below:

Information

Start off your page by describing your business. In the “About” section, be brief but specific and use keywords. Under “Description”, you can add a little more information or list services. Under “Subcategories”, tag your profile with up to three business categories. Insert “Milestones” on your timeline: such as the start of your business or a “first” time even; it connects to your users and lets them grow with your business. And if you have store hours, list them under “Basic Info.”

Location

Write out your location. It’s important to put your business on the map so that people can find you on search engines like Yelp or Google Maps and they can “check-in” to your location. That means more viewers see your page on other users’ walls.

Be Visual

After you fill out the “About” section, create your cover photo. It could be your office, a project or a photograph relating to your business. Then add a profile photo representing you as an owner or add your business logo. Under “Photos”, insert as many photos and albums as you can; users love browsing images and don’t forget to add descriptions. Also post videos if relevant to your business. Keep videos short and either informative or entertaining.

Posting

You should post regularly on your wall. It reminds your followers of your presence and keeps them interested. Find out what your followers relate to the most; use trial and error on the amount of updates per day or week. Depending on your business, one update might be enough per day, or every 2 days. Ask questions and keep to topics that are relevant to your business. To emphasize an important post, “star” it and the post will expand to the whole width of your timeline columns.

Facebook Apps

Apps offer users various interactions such as Events, Promotions, or a Welcome. It is a good idea to create custom thumbnails for your Apps to tie in your business page look. And you can highlight which apps can be seen first.

Facebook Promotion

There are two ways to advertise your business. You can use Facebook ads or what I call “aiding promotion.” Aiding promotion is when you comment, like and promote other businesses for reciprocal likes. If you follow other businesses, you create a network of possible followers coming from the pages you’ve liked.

Don’t be overwhelmed by all the functions Facebook offers. Experiment with Apps, posting and your business look. The most important factor are your followers; understand what they like and keep them interested in your growing business.
